I just received my new MeFoto RoadTrip tripod (A1350Q1G). I took a few test shots with my 7d and 70-200 f4 L (100 ISO, f22 at 1/15 of a second) with the first two sets of leg extended. It was rock solid! It's bit heavier than I would like but it seems very stable. I plan to try some try some longer exposures next week but I don't anticipate any issues. It's a great tripod for the money. B & H did a very nice job of handling the exchange as well.

After reading much reviews and recommendations, I have ordered 1350Q1. I was in favour of 2350Q2 but during my recent city trips, I found every weight counts after 3-4 hours. I hope I wont be disappointed with the Tripod.

I just bought a A1350Q1 (A1350Q1O Orange) off Craigslist last night. It was $100. It goes for $160 on Amazon. So, I didn't get a stellar deal... Guy said he had it for about six months. I tried it with my Sigma 17-50 with Canon T2i + battery grip and a YN-622C on top. Worked fine. It seems like the ballhead isn't going to move unless I'm putting 10lbs+ on it and moving the entire tripod up and down. I considered putting my flash on it too, but I'll try that later.

The ballhead seems to work fine. I hate the plate, but that's just how the system is. I didn't get the bag with the purchase.

What do you guys think of the tripod? I watched a youtube video where the guy didn't recommend it for DSLRs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pb7KD0Su0Q&hd=1 (external link)

I have to say though, holy crap this tripod is small! It fits within a 16x4x4 space. That's small enough for most carry ons. Great travel size and seems to work fine for me so far. I'm worried that as soon as I put a 70-200 2.8 IS II on it that it will start to freak out, but that's a purchase that's off in the distance. So far, I have no good reason to believe that other than it not being a $700 gitzo with a $300 head. As far as it goes, most people have not had any trouble with this tripod (as far as I've seen besides that video).

Unless the tripod is beat up I'd say you got a really good deal.

This thread is helping me with my decision, I have been looking for a good travel tripod. I was set on the Manfrotto befree because I have the 055xprob and a Manfrotto monopod already and like the rc2 plate system along with my black rapid strap, but now I think I am set on the road trip. Just trying to decide in red or orange...

I also have the red and it's awesome. Not my full time tripod but a great travel tripod.
