Any of the off-brand tubes that have electrical connection seem to cause some sort of problem on the 5D that can blow a fuse, that must be fixed by Canon. The tubes work great on my 40D, while my 5D is showing no signs of life whatsoever  Just a head's up! Good to know! Thank you for taking on for the team I guess. You would think others would be a little more grateful for that bit of info. Thanks again.
