Can anyone recommend a book or something on places to photograph in AZ?

I've got far too many pictures of goldfield ghost town, south mountain, and sedona...and nothing of anything else.

I love THIS SERIES (external link) of books. Not only do they point out good locations, he tells you what time of day is best to be there.

Makes me wish I hadn't sold my G12.... great shot!

Thank you. This is with some close up filters and additional lighting so it's no longer a compact camera lol.

Hi guys.. and gals.. Looking for some insight... Can anyone help me with something?

I have been noticing a line in my images... I went to the grand canyon for a couple hours yesterday, and it seems that all of my shots have this line in them. I think I noticed it a week or so ago on some darker shots... but now I am looking at my memory card, and it's there on all of my images.

Does anyone know what would cause this? It's cropped, but if you look center, you'll see a vertical line going through the image. Weird.... is it my camera? (excuse the old watermark.. I uploaded to preset gallery.. lol)

I tweaked the image to expose the line. Hope you don't mind. Have you tried another CF or SD card? Did your Mark III have the light leak issue and if so, was it corrected?

Interesting observation! I didn't think of that.. I did a similar adjustment with the image to try to get it to stand out more, but couldn't think of any logical response to it... Nice possibility.. It's such a "clean" line...:confused:

Or maybe it's an alien beam sucking up visitors..:):)

That's weird. It only started showing up now right? I remember when nikon introduced the D200, they had banding issues when a light source was in the photo and the iso was up high, the light sources would have these lines showing up in the photos.

It does look like some sort of light leak issue. It might be a problem with the sensor. I'm not entirely sure...good luck!

C.R.I.S. is here in chandler....they do free evaluations/estimates. May be worth driving it down and letting them tell you what the cause is (though they'll hold on to it for a few days before they get to it).
