i'd probably call to see what's up. they probably shouldn't have shipped orders later than yours before yours... maybe they screwed up?

UPS just delivered my order a couple minutes ago. Looks like my order getting delayed paid off. Received the free speedlite upgrade. :)

Dang - I got the white camera with the 22 lens and didn't get the flash. Mine came on Tuesday from B&H. I do LOVE this little camera, though - think I need to sell my G1X.

Maybe they didn't get any stock from Canon and decided to fulfil orders with the kit that included a flash?

But they have no reason to do that.

Here is one explanation from someone on DPReview forums.

This is not a mistake/error from B&H.
Canon was not able to fulfill the large batch order from multiple retailers on time with the latest promotion. They have to convert some flash kits to non-flash kit.
Canon put a non-flash manufacturer kit # label (6609B033) over the original (6609B010) flash package.
Technically, we received a kit package without flash from Canon. But we still receive the serial # for all 3 items separately (Body, lens & flash) in the box.

1. How do you know? and 2. What does that have to do with anything?

1 B7H told me that canon approved that on the 29 BO Kits that were left. 2 What does any of this have to do with anything.

I meant, what does "Canon approving" what a private seller does with their back-order obligations? Canon said, "Yes, we give you permission to take a loss. Throw in some of your Sandisk cards, too."

"Thanks, Canon."

Does Canon reimburse when this happens?

EOS M isn't very pocketable, so if that is important, there is your answer.

i emailed B&H saying that i had heard the 22mm kit with 90ex was selling for $299 to see if i could get that price...apparently, even with canon's approval...they didn't see the need to respond to me...

Canon can't tell a vendor to loose money. However they can approve "Dealer Cash Insentives" which is what they did on these 29 units.

They let B&h sell them at a loss and the gave them a cash Insentives.

It happens everyday.
