Hovers and Wasp

Whilst taking some photos of hoverflies which were enjoying some newly opened flowers, I saw this wasp come over. Not sure what type of wasp it is so if anyone could ID that would be appreciated. It flew around and perched places while stalking the hoverflies then dived in grabbed on and flew off. Saw him do this about 4 times so he must have been hungry!

nice set adam.
think it,s a digger wasp.it catches and paralizes it,s prey*(hover flies),and then brings them to their burrow for the lavae to feed on.
