Taken from the pier. Didn't even know who I captured until I got home and spotted a reverse Nike hat w/ the 400/2.8ii.

Just looked up APSS website for 8/12-8/17. Only day I can make it out to shoot would be that Monday 8/12. I'll just have to clear it with the boss, but otherwise, I should be there. I know it most likely won't be terribly exciting being day 1 but something's better than nothing for me. :D

So if you'll be there shooting that Monday, Pat, I'll see you there.

Awesome captures, y'all, from yesterday's US Open... That lady was crazy with the rig setup... We talked about betting on whether or not it would've tipped over... And like Eric mentioned, she left if alone on a few occassions... YIKERS!!! She cray cray!! Hehehhee... Anyhoo...

Have fun to those who are heading out there for today's finals... Can't wait to see more captures (hint hint... BIF... hint hint...)

;) :D

PS. Got the link, E, for the head support on Amazon... I'll forward the info to my friend Jon... THanks again!!!

Probably don't need to move around much since the action repeats itself after every wave so why not leave it in fixed position.

It can also be a long time between sets so why not free your self up to do other things. You are usually not moving around as you can see in the murder's row picture. I sometimes use a tripod with my 300 but other times I like to roam and it is lighter than my 70-200L 2.8 IS.

I missed all you guys at the finals, I did not see anyone what happened? It was a mob scene on the beach for the men's & women's finals. It was full contact rugby style shooting, if you were not nimble and quick to move and find an opening your shot was blocked by hundreds of people.

I'm trying to get through the photos and will post a few when I get a chance. CBSSHD sports channel had live coverage, did any of you catch it?
