Anyone have the Canon 15-85 lens? Seems like a good all around lens. Deciding between that and the 24 mm 2.8 IS.

I have the 15-85 and it spends 90% of the time on my camera. Great walk around lens.

The 15-85 is a nice lens, I use mine a lot. There is some vignetting, but it's easy enough to fix that in post. It is a little on the heavy side, when I use it on my XSi it is a little front-heavy. I imagine that on the SL1 it would feel the same.

The new Sigma 17-70 Contemporary might be worth a look too.

I'm sorry but I have no experience with the 24/2.8 IS. That lens really isn't that wide on a crop though...

I vote both! How about women in J-e-l-l-O?

I prefer shots like #4909 on the other 60D thread. I realize this is an off topic thread but glamour, fashion and nude shots really belong on the threads designated for that.

I'm hardly a prude but there is a place for most everything on this site and it would be nice to keep things where they belong. I think most of us know where that line is, if we pause long enough to give it some thought.

just bought a cable to connect my S3 to my cameras. i can then use my phone to control the camera using a DSLR controller apps. yohoo! sure not gonna miss the flippy screen anymore!

But if you think about it like that, landscape photos need to be in their specific thread, bugs / macro in theirs, and etc. I can understand nudity being a little bit more touchy since people are uncomfortable with that generally. I had to go look up post #4909 in the other thread. >_>

Let me know how well it works. If be interested to use this with my S4

I think if you ask 10 people you will get 10 varying answers but I think nudes and borderline should be 'linked to'.

Lets remember how this thread came to be... its not quite a repository of "anything goes" but it is an experiment of Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Expression and while I don't care for everything posted here - it generally does not bother me because I do value Freedom of Speech/Expression provided it is not damaging or hateful which of course this thread has no issue with, its respectful. Regardless, as mentioned above, I feel certain content should be 'linked'.

Just a voice in a chorus of hundreds here
