Guys, I had no expectation of Jake saying he had no qualifications. I assumed that he did have experience and/or qualifications in the technology/PR/web-building industry, and wanted to know what they were.

Maybe instead of "getting vibes" and reading into things, we can go simply by the words people use, and not by what we think may be implied. I don't imply things - if I have something to say, I come right out and say it. Please do not read anything into my statements in the future - if I wanted to put somebody down, I would come right out and do it bluntly. If I ask someone about their past experiences, then all I am doing is asking about their past experiences - no more, no less. I do accept your apology, and hope that the acute frustration I am feeling now will subside shortly.

Since we're typing to one another, we don't have the luxury of voice tone, facial cues, body language, etc. Inevitably this is gonna lead to some misinterpretation now and then.

Don't let it frustrate you! Be happy. :D

No, I haven't had any such requests. In fact, I don't know what you mean by "choppers", and I certainly don't know what they have to do with photography.

.

Tom R. Sorry about that. I thought that I was sending the response to Jake. (see his avatar of Paul Sr.). I guess that I worked too long in Richland, WA.

instant ban when you mention any company that makes better products then canon, you know companies like: Fuji, Olympus, Panasonic, Nikon, and Sony.

But that makes it easy for you to leave and go to the sights that do!

I have never heard of a "Paul Senior". I always thought Jake's avatar was a photo of himself, and I must admit, I though he had an unnecessarily stern, unfriendly look. If that picture in his avatar is not him, I am relieved. I would much prefer that our moderators be kindly, friendly people. I also hope that "Paul Senior", whoever he is, is a humble, friendly, helpful person, and that the expression on his photo is just an exception to the way he really looks.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I googled it, Ian. No wonder I have never heard of a "Paul Senior" - I can't even remember the last time I watched television, and I have never had an interest in motorcycles.

When I googled OCC, I found a site with a few photos of the Paul guy, and he didn't look like such an _ _ _ hole in those photos, so maybe the image in Jake's avatar does not accurately depict what kind of a person he really is. I sure do hope he's a lighthearted guy who is humble, kindly, and doesn't take himself too seriously.

It's interesting that Jake would use a photo of a TV character as his avatar. My guess is that Jake is probably interested in motorcycles. Or television. Or both.

Jakes avatar is a pretty accurate representation of Paul Sr to anyone who has seen the show. Let's just say they didn't get the show because they are talented, original thinking bike builders, they got the show because they are a couple of testosterone fueled drama queens. ;)

And so self-centered and self-important he would jeopardize his relationship with his son.
Or, maybe not and just put on for a TV contract?
There is no amount of money that could get in the way of me and my two sons.

I would die penniless first. But that's just me.

I wonder how much of the drama is real and how much is just put on for the TV show.

I'm pretty much a noob on the forums and I try to pay particular attention to the more knowledgeable posters who have been here awhile. Jake's avatar accomplished one thing. It attracted my attention to his posts and it didn't take me reading very many for me to realize that he was one of those that I needed to add to the list of people whose posts I need to read carefully. Damn that sentence was a mouthful. :)

Tom R./et all. I did not mean to get us off track. If you are into photography, and choppers (my dad had an Indian (motorcycle) in the 1940's/50's), Jake's avatar would catch your eye quickly. Maybe they are related. They both seem like good people. Maybe, Paul Sr, was invited to join the Canon forums.
