Went with a silver Elinchrom umbrella for the main because it was the modifier closest to me at the time when I was setting up. :D

I had this idea of creating an album and make one photograph for every existing profession in our society, this is a big project, but also means i have a lot of pictures to make, which keeps me busying and work hard for my goal !

Cool shots.

I'm curious about darkening the background and using the flash as a sunlight fill, why do folks underexpose the background? I.E. versus having the background correctly exposed, but then the flash just a touch more.

If you have to ask, you probably won't get it. :) Some people like sepia tone, some people black and white, some people like selective color, and some people like putting blue and red and purple gels over hair lights.....lol.....

If it's done on purpose, then it was done because of taste.

Because they are lazy :p

Or they only have one strobe.

Amazing!!

For the 2nd shot, would I be able to get similar look with rx600 and 53" midi soft box?

You are probably going to need a grid as this seems like a controlled light source to me.

I'm astounded with your ability with no experience with flash.

The owner of the studio helped quite a bit with explaining what this and that does. :)

You probably learned more in that session than I have in a couple of years reading, asking and experimenting.

I realized today that the Elinchrom excluded from the market the adapter GX 6:35 (Halogen Lamp Adapter). It's a shame, I have used 6 of these in 6 BX 500 RI units with a 300W modeling lamp for over a year and a half, and it has worked perfectly. I remembered this report today because in my last job I used the full modeling for 14 continuous hours.
