Took a few days to get out of the heat and headed to Durango, Colorado. Here is a shot from the spot made famous by The Eagles and Jackson Browne...

Here's a few from a crazy storm chase FlyingPhotog (Jay Beckman) and I did a couple of weeks ago...

Roosevelt Bridge and Dam

And our last location to try and grab some lightning...Superstition Mountains in Mesa, AZ. Went about 400 miles and not a frame of lightning. We had given up and were driving away. The sun then popped through the clouds and generated this! Pretty nice reward for a day of striking out!

I bumped the contrast and repaired some stitching errors but the color is real!

Yipdog - love the sharpness and colors of the canyon on your Glen Canyon Dam shot! And the colors on the Superstition Mtn image is awesome.

James - another great shot of the Superstitions... I really need to get out that way some time!

Here is a couple more from Winslow...

Thanks Bob!
Looks like I have to add Winslow to my "to photograph" list! Great shots! Now I've got that Eagles song stuck in my head all we need is the girl in the Ford! Ha ha! I could probably coerce a model to drive up there with me!

Awesome shots guys! I love the Supers! I need to get out there and shoot something. 13-years in the phoenix area and I have never been there.. gah!

Some shots from a couple weeks ago, when my nephew and his family came to visit. His little boy is so stinking cute! We went for a boat ride....

NIce shots of the Dam, and Winslow..... I like the added stuff from the Supers too! :)

Very cool to stumble on that amazing sheep!

I have been playing around with a contrasty B&W conversion... couple of shots I processed yesterday.... Not sure if the second works, but I like the first one.

Thanks Kristy! Great pics yourself!

And Ian, they must be spreading! There's a flock of about 100 at Falcon Field park that I see all the time! Nice grab!

Kristy, love your high key processing on your nephew's family pics. They look great and I especially like how the eyes are so sharp and crisp. Would love to know your technique! (hint, hint, nudge, nudge)

Yipdog and Ian, really nice captures of the bighorn sheep and the bird!

Here's a few of hotel were we stayed in Durango. It is the historic Stater hotel which was built in 1887. Beautiful architecture and antique furnishings. It was like being transported 100 years in the past:
