Thanks to both of you! :)

Since the birds flew in and out of the shadows I used Av @f/4 ISO200 as basic, and opened up the aperture when the shutterspeed became to slow :)

Candid of fellow surf photographer, Ken, during the 2013 US Open of Surfing event here in SoCal... Don't remember the Nikon D-series body, but I believe he was shooting with a 600mm with a 1.4x TC attached... Anyhoo...

Ken's KANON...

Glad to hear Canon covers it for free. It probably a sticky mirror box, you may get a whole new mirror box amd even shutter replaced :)

Good news is the camera is on the Fed Ex truck due back on Friday. The bad news is online info and emails dont say what they did yet.

It will be like christmas on Friday.

Short story... Had my 1D3 sent in 3 times for ERR 99, after the third time the send me a new one. Well, not really new, but a newer one than I had. Hopefully you don't travel down my road, but if you do, I hope you get the same result. :)

I'm pretty sure that's some sort of 1x reflex finder. Since it has a cover, I imagine it's intended for birding. The astronomy reflex finders don't need a cover:
