Broke mine today! Was stuck on 35mm and I tried pushing in through like I have had to do lately. Something broke in the focal length controller and it won't work anymore. I have to keep it on 55mm to shoot (pull it out if it is not already there.)

Have to send and pay for it to be repaired now. Would not recommend this lens based on it's poor build and obvious design flaw. Not fit for purpose, as described and built to last a reasonable amount of time.

Mine is working fine. I used it on my50d & now on my hes 7d. It works great.


My Gear: 7d, XTi, 17-55f2.8 EF-S, 70-200f4L, 28-135 Kit lens, 2-580EXii

I got my one back from repair. Was 6 weeks away in Scotland at some place recommended by Canon.

Price OK or £130, the repair seems perfect, customer service not the best because of the time it took and I was kept out of the loop regarding that.

I am happy with the IQ from the lens but really unhappy with this apparent inherent fault that Canon fails to recognize and accept responsibility for
