Thanks for the compliments.

Off to Lake Garda (Malcesine) in a few hours. Any particularly beautiful spots/vantage points to not miss?

Anyone got a view on how good Crucial SSD's are especially their M500 as here http://www.crucial.com …SD1&cpe=InsiderUKAUGSSD13 (external link)

When I built my PC last year I installed a 128G M-SATA drive on the direct on to the mother board as the C drive ......... works fine in fact Windoz 8 boots quicker than the Bios.

When I next need an other 1T HDD I will look at SSD

Oh I had very good service from Crucial also purchased new RAM for my aged laptop from them, their website is one of the most user friendly I have come across

Sometimes I take good photos other times !!!!

What a cracking pair with those stunning skies :D

Thanks Laurence, it made a change to just go out with the camera and shoot something with no pressure or expectations from anyone. Best of luck with the finger I expect you'll make a full recovery things are never as bad as they seem.

Plus more banter ............... as long as the CIA & MI5/6 2/3 don't see it as a threat and start closing embassies :p

It's a good drive and a good company. Personally, we use Samsung 840 Pro Series SSD's - they read a little faster than the Crucial but they write at over twice the speed. Probably cost you £30 more.

BTW - Hi all - apologies for absence but been a bit busy of late :(

evening guys, just popping in, to see if anyone might be interested in some kit...

fingers crossed things will work out next week, and I'm upgrading gear, I should have for sale a 5D2 and a 1D3...open to offers...
You've all seen what they do, so not going to drone on about spec etc. anyone interested?

(FYI I'm most likely getting a 1DX, 5D3 and 300 F/2.8 II)

That sounds sweet. I got £50 here for the 5D2. Where do i collect? lol

Oh....yes, RH index finger! I do not do things by halves  They decided I did not warrant having it X rayed and though there was some thinking as she called one of the GP's in as she thought there was (still) an infection in it saying maybe I should have another course of Anti-biotics???

But left me with "just look after it" and see how it goes.....well it has only been just over a week so plenty of time for the remaining swelling to subside and then see whether there is any long term effects on its movement???

A&E was such a mare of a wait if I need it looked at again I will try the nearest "Walk In Centre" but lets not be negative ~ time will tell ???

OMG, what did you do? I colleague of mind took his middle finger off a few weeks ago with a circular saw. He did finish the cutting he had to do aswell before he went to A&E. Made me smile.

No Excuses JD. You should make more of an effort.

By the way guys, i think i may need a new Wireless Router soon. Any recommendations? My Belkin doesnt seem to like so many wireless devices.

Thanks Wayne, I know the problem all the interesting stuff at work is where I can't photograph it though I have been dropping hints to the PR team at work that they need an on site photographer as there is on in France but not the UK.

In other news I've had a chap who is starting up a new magazine asking if he can use some of my photos.

I'm not sure as he's just starting it up and issue one is yet to be published but getting in at the start could be a good move.

I'm going to head down to BHX soon to catch the Dreamliner, still haven't seen one in service yet. Nice 380 shot :) that grass has suffered a bit from the heat, never seen it so yellow!

Nice planes Ian, I've been shooting the power boat racing at Folkestone Harbour this afternoon but while I process those here's a quick candid I snapped while there.
