Went to use my camera and noticed that the red ring had broken on my 24-105L. I treat my equipment with care and was very surprised. I know it doesn't effect perfommance but it is maddening (and probably hurts resale value if I every wanted sell that is). Has anyone else had this issue?

It's not too uncommon with that lens....you're in good company.

Uh oh, looks like it's no longer an L lens, better change your sig!

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

Since it no longer an L lens I'll give you $50.00 and even pay the shipping.

I painted a red ring on all my consumer level Canon lenses before I sold them and it vastly improved their performance and resale value. I tried it on a Sigma and it didn't work quite as well.

I so missed the boat by not thinking of this before I sold my Nikon gear and upgraded to Canon. I loved my D700 but craved some L glass.....
