Nice Matt! Any stacking or was this one exposure?

Where was this taken? I'm going to pickup this lens myself for an upcoming trip to the Sierra's (Mammoth Lakes) in Sept. You simply can't go wide enough in those environments and I hope to get some good night sky shots as well.

No Stacking single exposure
F/2.8
ISO 3200
WB tungsten
Also had long exposure noise reduction on
This was taken in Oregon at Trillum lake night before the new moon. I can't tell you how happy I am with this lens. Image quality is wonderful built quality is solid mostly metal and for $350 it's a no brainer since Canon's 14mm F/2.8 is $2K+ who cares if the Samyang is completely manual, I'm not that lazy.

Great job Matt! The Milky Way has a slightly different color than I've seen in the past, I like it. Welcome to the addiction.

I guess I can add this one to the mix as well; 24 shot panoramic to capture a 180-degree view of the Milky Way over Mt. Rainier.

That's my first ever attempt at a milky way shot so maybe I tweaked it a little wrong in PP I just kind of messed with it until I liked the way it looked.. Do you have any pointers you could share that maybe you do to get it to look right. I'm still kind of a novice with LR and CS6 . Your milky way shot is probably the best I've ever seen, sure hope that shot is hanging on your wall in your living room :)

I actually think you far from messed it up! It's actually unique looking in a good way. There are a few pointers by me and a few others in this thread, just in case you haven't seen it yet:https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1315537

And the Crater Lake shot just showed up yesterday; 36x18 on aluminum which will be hung in my office. I appreciate your comments!

Awesome Thank you I bookmarked that :) .basically all I did with my image was in camera raw I used the adjustment brush some to try and get the MW to pop a little then I just messed with the Curve adjustments. made 2 points and adjusted to taste. I haven't got into cs6 enough to be efficient with masks etc..

We have been blessed with rain this summer, something we haven't had much of the last couple of years in the Texas Panhandle. I was watching the radar and I saw the clouds approaching from the sw so I grabbed my new 14mm and headed out. Still working on the focusing on the run.

I was up at the cottage and tried my hand at "Astrophotography" from the end of my dock.

Well, I got nuthin from my meteor hunting...actually I have a pretty cool time-lapse I'll link to when it's ready...but the Sammy 14 T3.1 Cine version did an outstanding job. I also had my Zeiss 21mm and the two really don't look that different IQ and sharpness-wise! More distortion on the Sammy but it's a much wider lens so not a surprise. Anyone questioning purchasing this lens...get your wallet out and DO IT!!

I was out last night about 11pm looking to the South West hoping to get some meteors, but didn't get anything. From what I have read, tonight between 2am to 4am pointing to the North East sky will be better.
