Wonderful image! I have been visualizing this scene for years. I thought about Reelfoot Lake as a good locale for a scene like this but have not made it up there.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. In case you go it was just across the road from the Reelfoot Lake Inn on 21/22 behind the building. It might be nice with fall colors too.

lol - thanks! Sometimes it's simply all about the luck. I almost slid into the ditch dropping from 130 km/h to full stop! Jumped out and grabbed my 5dII and just leaned against the box of my truck and got a couple of shots off just before the colors all but disappeared. This is pretty much OOC with only some slight brightness and noise eduction adjustments in LR. Was really quite a sight.

Know exactly what ya mean! Check post 1075 a couple of pages back! We had given up on a 400 mile day of storm chasing where we got nothing and were heading home when my buddy says "DON'T look in the rear view mirror!"
The pink mountain was our reward!
Color was not touched on mine...just contrast! Mother Nature is a pretty darn good painter!

Wow - I missed that post! Amazing color indeed! Is that a small rain squall on the far left? The similarities here are quite interesting! I had my son with me and we were looking at the sky while coming up the highway, but with no real vantage points - crested the hill, and he also said "Look in your mirror!" - small rain squall helped cast the color in a soft haze in spots. Thank you Mother Nature!

Ok...freaky! Yup the rain is why we packed up. It also is responsible for the pink rainbow.

Thanks Bianchi!
...and agreed - great look with the cloud and reflection Cape.
...Bianchi - nice tones in the palm tree lined sky.
...Olga - nice capture! Would love to see more of what's up closer to the waterfall and the sedimentary rock formations to the left.
