Not familiar with either lens but my gut feeling was Zeiss is the second one as I just like that image better. Obviously I didn't go with Warmness as the criteria. That must have to do with their coatings and in general I believe Helios looks a lot like normal plane glass than Biotar (Less coating thickness).

Strange thing for me is that if everything constant as you say while taking the images (And this seems that way) why there is a tighter native crop of Zeiss image compare with Helios? It seem either Helios is wider than 58mm or Biotar is longer than 58 by a tad. For sure there is a difference in focal length if distance to subject is not changed.

But then most important thing I wanted to point out is already discussed and that is the effect of more blades will not be notice whatsoever if you shoot wide open. You need to bring the blades in by closing down the diaphragm before seeing the effect. In fact the best way to talk of great additive effect of larger blade numbers is to take that full F closed image of silhouette subject when sun is behind and then see how nice sun circle will look with larger blade lens and off course the bokeh effect as discussed above.

You are correct sir! I was kind of surprised at the difference in color when I went through them.

In addition to the Biotar mentioned above, and the Helios, I have another Biotar, but it's a Contax mount, and I'm waiting (patiently) for my adapter. The Biotar above (M42) is 10 blades, but the Contax is 12 blades, and goes to f/22. I'm pretty pumped to use it.

Here's another one of my favorite lenses - Mamiya-Sekor 60mm f/2.8 Macro. This thing does 1:1 without tubes, and has a nice creamy bokeh for the most part. This is processed, but not cropped (hence the poor crop). The flower was tiny, and it was a bear to get a decent shot with the light breeze moving it around. Thinking of printing and hanging this, but it really isn't a great shot, but I like it.

Oh, and samsen, I'm not seeing any difference in the native crop of the earlier images. Where on the image are you noticing it?

It's amazing for how little the FD's go for. I remember selling a 1.2 for a really low amount once.

They're still fetching 50-100 all day, I just got extremely lucky!

I want a FD 85 1.8 but they're selling for as much as a brand new EF version!

Now with more mirrorless bodies on the market I'm sure they will rise in price.
