I have no problems with this, if the MRAW is 22mp, and the SRAW is 11mp. I'm not going to be shooting at 36mp all day long.

10fps is never gonna happen on the 5D series. I'd be happy with 7fps.

You must have an extra $8k-$10k wanting to be spent!

No need for all the fancy things in the 5D line - stick to the 5D basics, which were (in the 5D and 5D2) best-possible image quality, with everything else being secondary.

50+ megapixels, no pattern noise, 14+ stops of DR, full weather-sealing and a good live view system are all that it really needs. Even the viewfinder is optional.

Release a 1D version of the same sensor for the faster FPS, etc.

long drag on a joint.... breath hold...... exhale

"Dude, do away w/ the mirror, high magnify high res EVF with all kinds of smart stuff, focus peaking, etc, etc, electronic "global" shutters, only a sensor guard when the lens is off, d800 or better resolution & DR, lots of bandwidth in the data pipes so the ML boys can do their magic"

If you see me with a wrench - call 911. 5d3, T3i, 17-55 2.8, 50 1.8, 70-200 2.8 L II, 24-105 f4. YN 565, Precision Lupe attached to hacked extended eyecup (no sticky frame) - old enough to have owned an original F-1

Canon needs to call up Sony and buy some sensors from them. Particularly, the 36 MP one! ;)

Haha yeah I hope Canon does venture into the Square Format MF sensor for their next big camera. That would be their easy way around a higher MP "FF" sensor. The 1Dx is better than Nikon's sport camera by most accounts so they have that covered.

Dynamite. Although I don't know why they couldn't at least put the 7D's AF into it.

There are few things that make the 1DX better than the D4. Video and FPS are pretty much where it ends. I don't care for video and don't spray very often. :) I was able to evaluate the 1DX from CPS and high ISO is pretty much a tie. I can certainly get the job done with two D4s' and a D3s.

Here's an article to back up my claim.

Uncrippled spot metering, i.e. not only center point.

That's unrealistic. The current digi medium format has 13 stops of DR. ;)

Yes!

I'm screaming for the option to have NO optical high pass filter.

The 5D3 would be in my tool kit instead of a medium format digital solution.
