I thinking of upgrading to a 5d from a Rebel. I have (2) EF lenses. Do all EF lenses work on the 5d? Are there any issues?

The only issues would be with EF-S lenses, as far as I know.

Your siganture lists your 2 EF lenses as the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM and
the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM.

Yes those will work on any EOS camera. (except you would need an adapter for the EOS M)

The Tamron 18-200 will mount on a 5D, and it will work, but it will have dark corners as it wasn't designed for full frame sensors.

Maybe he has a "prototype" - if Canon is like Apple - you usually find the prototypes left in a bar not far from head office.....
