Salutations one and all!!
I joined the forum a couple weeks ago, and have been doing some major lurking since.
I decided to make my first post in this thread because I just received this lens in the mail yesterday!
I hope to be accepted here by all, and as a peace offering from a newbie, I have looked at EVERY SINGLE PAGE in this thread!
Hope my diligence buys at least some small manner of respect from the establishment!

Now all joking aside I see from the many pages of GREAT photos that I have a lot to learn.
You guys can take a picture of a dirty ash tray and make it so interesting that it draws you in
and makes you wonder about it's story! It almost pisses me off to tell the truth :mad:
But never the less, I am determined to learn this craft.
I don't mind studying and reading on the subject.
I also don't mind harsh criticism. ...at least over the web

My shots are not anywhere near as good as even the worse shots I have seen here.
I see I need to work on getting sharper images first and maybe composition a close second.
I learned what little I know back in the days of film.
I am happy to learn that it (for the most part) translated over to the digital world pretty straight up

anywho... this was THE first shot taken with my nifty fifty!

Next: I made my youngest one come out for a quick shot... forgot to grab my flash, I was so excited about the lens. He was somewhat less excited about the picture :cool:
