So excited.. about a week away from the purchase. Been saving up and have decided the 35 1.4 fits me better then the 24-70 tammy. Now that I have that in mind I am overwhelmed with excitement!

Using it mainly for portraiture and possibly second shooting weddings. Just thought I would put it out there!

Congrats! I got mine last week and I'm sure you'll like it. It was a bit heavier than I expected but the build quality was more than I expected from Sigma.

vignetting is heavy at f1.4, but i've gotten some AMAZING shots. $670 is a killer price. Only thing is that I use the tiffen 9 stop filter on it for outdoor shots to use it wide open, and i have notice that it is slow to focus on shadow areas.

I'de imagine any lens having trouble AF with a 9 stopper. Heck, even a 3 stop that I typically use on the 50 and 85, will hurt the AF a bit. 9 stop should be black...

Congrats! I love mine and I'll probably be "pulling the trigger" on the Sigma 24mm f/1.4....whenever they release it!

Wish I had those refurb prices here in NZ.. cheapest I can get it for currently is $1200. Part of me is still regretting not choosing the 24-70 as the "sensible choice".

Well I went for the 24-70 Tammy but plan to pick up a Sigma 35 if the Tammy doesnt cut it at 35.

If you end up needing to MFA it, and still have inconsistent focus at various distances, buy or rent the Sigma USB calibration dock, worth every penny.

I have both. Tamron definitely hold its own at 35mm wide open for center sharpness. I think the sigma is sharper however and noticeably sharper in the extreme corners.

Well this statement is my main dilemma. Is 1.4 vs. 2.8 worth the versatility of the tamron? I could use the tamron as a portrait lens as well? Especially if I want yo start into wedding stuff.
