So I just purchased a Globetrotter from amazon.
Straight out of the packaging I was impressed with the build quality. The tripod folds very small (15") and comes in a very nice shoulder bag with tools and switchable spiked feet. I feels heavy but that adds to the sturdiness.
I got the titanium color and i am glad that I did. The legs are very sturdy (compared to my last Davis and Sandford Voyager) but only have 2 splay positions (regular and wide). The ball head is Arca-Swiss compatible which suits my CarrySpeed pro plate.
3 knobs on the ballhead: pan, ballhead release and ballhead friction.
The ballhead action is nice and fluid as you would expect from a new tripod so I'll see how it holds up over time.
The 3 year factory warranty is extended by a further 2 years through registration which is a nice bonus.
So far so good.
