I see that they are about to start rebuilding the pier. Possibly what that pile of lumber was doing there?

Don't know. It was just a random stack of Oak beams in the front garden of a house at the start of the pier.

Happened to catch my eye as I have a love of oak as wood's go. My favorite to work with when I get the chance.

Anyone interested in my 7D body or any of the Sigma lenses/TC's in my sig before I put them to general sale? (ebay/here/etc.)

All are perfect condition and boxed etc. Looking to move to "L" glass now I have the 5D.

As I don't have any fast glass I was thinking about the new Sigma 18-35 f1.8, how much would you want for the 30 f1.4

Went up to Shawford this morning to shoot Oliver Cromwell, no I'm not a Royalist Cavalier :D
Oliver Cromwell throttled back unfortunately as she sped through so no steam :(

Ken,

Where was she coming from / going to?

I normally know when they come through locally, but missed this one.

Nice shots Ken ;-)a

Going rate for the 30mm on fleabay seems to be £200-£225 for a good used one which is what I paid for mine from this forum about 3 months ago.

I'll let you have it for £175???

I would keep it as it is such a lovely lens but I can't afford to keep the 7D and being a DC lens, it wont work on the 5D.

I have to say that the 17-70 is a cracking lens as well if you really want a fast zoom without breaking the bank.

It was on the way to Weymouth, they seem to be running each Wednesday until 11th Sep. http://www.uksteam.info/tours/trs13.htm#aug (external link)

I have the 17-70 range covered with my 15-85 although I appreciate it is only f5.6 at the long end, but haven't found it a problem most of the time to be honest. I'll have a think about the 30mm

This was in the garden this morning

Mmmm. would fit well with a 28-70 and a 70-200 f2.8. May well be interested Mark, would be good for landscape work with 7/10 stop filters. How much are you looking for?

Whatever it is nice couple of shots. Found this poor frog that didn't make it from his tadpole conversion.

Nice dragonfly shots Doc. I haven't seen one of those, but looking in my book I reckon you've got the right identification: Keeled Skimmer.
