Looking to enter these in the fair this year and want to hear some thoughts on if they're right for what I'm entering. One for landscape and the other for animals.

I like those photos.

#1 I would try to get rid of the vignetting in the upper corners, which would level out the exposure in the sky. If this causes added noise, don't be afraid to apply a slightly stronger noise reduction in those corners. From there, I would slightly boost the saturation of the greens and yellow colors of the vegetation, but NOT boost the blues of the sky and reflection any more than where they are now. Compositionally speaking, I think it would have been slightly stronger with the moon on the left side of the sky, but that is only a minor point. Overall, I think the subject matter, comp, colors, and mood are excellent and should win a lot of favors in a fair photo competition. Subject, color, and mood trump all else by miles and miles.

#2 I like those poses and vertical scope of the shot. I'm a one-trick-pony when it comes to just landscapes, so anything like wildlife or any other form of photography, I can't help much. I have no idea what they may be looking for there. Just a thought, but I wonder if cropping the bottom of the image at the base of the plant that's sitting on the left side at the bottom just above the water pool, would make the rest of the image feel more complete. I find the lower area breaks up the framing and strength of the composition. With that small bit cropped out, the rest of the image complements itself nicely.

when we export it usually means that jpeg (or tiff, PSD, etc) is intended to be published on the web or ready for print so it does not show up in the Catalog.

That said, on the top of the export dialog window (Export Location) - we do have the choice to add the exported image to the catalog if we wish. I found that confusing if choosing that option... does this help answer your question?

CL I boosted the yellows and greens a bit and used the lens correct tool for the corners, but still want to keep a little. It looks a little funny and doesn't have the same feel to me as it did taking the photo when I lighten the corners much more. Did away with a bit of the left bottom with the moose too and doesn't seem to attract my eye as much, but I didn't want to take too much out since it eats up more of the background. I like the feel of the immensity of the rest of the photo that gets taken once it's been cropped too much. I want the main focus the moose, but then the rest of the scene grabs your eyes.

I have one which may not be the best photo but i love how the whole scene is evenly lit.

it's an OCF. Flash was on a bracket pointing backward and used the demb to bounce the light forward.

The lady in the second row second from left heavily used lotion on her face that's why her forehead is shiny. all shots with her are the same.

Hi Vinz I've had a REALLY busy summer with wedding festivities and whatnot. Things have calmed down now...but I've signed up for a psychology class and a physiology class at the local city college so things are gonna pick right back up. I've mostly been doing product photography for work that I'll probably share sometime (even though it's really boring stuff), and I'll also share a few shots I took for fun at my cousin's wedding.

I see that you have become such a really good photographer! So much improvement since I've first joined the site, keep up the good work.

And Canon_Lover, amazing stuff as always!!
