Recent reports are that BVI has been shipping Canadian and US models. Can anyone confirm?

Got the body 2 days ago. It was brand new, complete with accesories and came in a kit box. Camera has a USA warranty card. Great deal.

Awesome! I was hoping it wouldn't be a grey market model but figured for the discount I'd take the gamble. I ordered one as well but mine isn't scheduled to arrive until Saturday. I'll report back when I get it.

Its not grey market but they are not a Canon authorized dealer. It's a great deal and this is the second time I purchased from them with no problem. I don't know why they get a bad rap

Because they advertise falsely with every sale they make (the warranty) and on a few occasions, they have shipped cameras with missing parts that are critical to the function of the camera.

Re: $2500 5dIII. Bigvalueinc gets a big thumbs up.
In reply to joseph shtekler, 1 day ago

There's no thumbs up coming from me. I ordered one of these $2500 Canon 5Dmk3's from BigValueInc. LOOK CLOSER, it has a FAKE SERIAL NUMBER.

I ordered the camera assuming it was "grey market", i.e. coming from another market, and hence I'm not paying for the North American Canon warranty program, what I got was a 'black market' camera, with a photocopied serial number.

I spoke about this with Canon directly. Not only will Canon not cover warranty on the camera that BigValueInc sent me, but they would not even repair it for a fee. Simply put, they would not touch the thing if I ever sent it in for service.

I had heard about the missing accessories (which I didn't really have a problem with if it actually happened) but that fake serial is pretty serious. I'll have to double check mine when it gets here.

Hollywood1053: It was a one day only deal. Seems to come back every so often.

Khawachen,

Thank you for bringing this to people's attention. That's really, really bad!

Here's some additional info:

I am trying to recover my money, but despite returning well within BVI's stated return time, and them agreeing to fully refund me, the refund never came through. Now I am relying on Ebay buyer protection to recover my losses. What a nightmare!

I've been posting warning after warning to folks here about Big Value, but folks keep getting lured in by "too good to be true" prices.

I kept it. I was deciding between the RX1 and 6D, but it looks like ill just keep both, its hard to find a 6D for this price.

Also, Its unfortunate some people got ripped off by them, but there are also plenty of buyers who were satisfied, I guess we can all agree that they dont have a sterling reputation for a reason buy not all of their items are knock offs.
