The 1080/60 would be a very nice option for sure.

The downside for me too. I am sticking with my G12.

I've never used a G12, I have a G1X, but to me the G12 is the perfect camera design with all major options readily available with no need to access the cameras menu system. I just wish the G1X had the ISO dial like the G12.

Can you point out where the G15 is deficient compared to the G16? I mean same sensor and lens, anyway.

The G15 is a great camera. I love mine. However, I shoot more video than anything, but also like shooting stills. I use a combination of several Canon cameras (video, DSLR, and my little G15). While a pocket camera like the G15/16 are not perfect for professional video, they serve a niche for me at times. I've shot some incredible footage on my G15 when I needed something very small that I can move around fast with. I like 24P, but there are times that shooting 60 fps would be very beneficial especially when blending footage to one of my dedicated video cameras on a project. For that reason alone, I'd consider giving up my G15 for a G16 (again after seeing in hand reviews). Just a tool that I would benefit from.

Also the Digic 6 processor sounds nice as well. As does the increased fps for action photographs.

But there is nothing wrong with my G15, it takes excellent photos and shoots great video given the type of camera that it is. But based on those couple things I would be interested in at least entertaining the upgrade to the G16 even if on the surface that seems slight.

Honestly, I'd rather see Canon do an impressive overhaul of the G1X. If the specs were right I'd buy one of those.

My G11 is getting a bit flaky now - I'm so disappointed that the new G16 hasn't got a flip screen.. that is my main consideration.

I went in to buy a G15. Perhaps a P7700 (but I don't like images from this Nikon P7700 as much as the G15, though I appreciate the longer zoom. Shades of the G9 I loved.)
Surprised, I bought a Nikon 1V1 because of the low cost and features.
I regret that, finding changing lenses a pain.

pS I had 2 G11's and lived the tilt screen.

No guides or manuals for this product. Unbelievable.

I have a G 12 and I see the sensor is still tiny in the G 16. If I was in the market I would go for a G1X instead.

Am I the only one who doesn't like flip screens? Makes the camera more bulky and is one more thing to break.

I've never heard of a flip screen being broken and I would be hard pressed to buy a camera without one. Having said that, I love Canons but can't bring myself to buy the G1X, so I might not have a choice unless a proper G12 replacement is forthcoming.

You can download a Canon camera app on your phone. I have an Samsung Galaxy S4 with a Canon SX280 and once I figured it out It works very nicely and is quick to. The Digic 6 and especially the 1920/1080 60 fps video make this an attractive camera. I would be on preorder for the October release if it had the flip out screen.
