I pre-ordered the 70D with 18-135mm on July 16th from Adorama. Sent them an email yesterday asking for an ETA and whether there were any other bundles available. They said my order should be fulfilled during the first week of September. They also gave me this list of bundles:
As for the list of the bundles, please see the following SKU below:

ICA70DK1A
ICA70DK1B
ICA70DK1VK
ICA70DKA
ICA70DKB
ICA70DB
ICA70DKVK
ICA70DK

I sent them another email asking them to change my order to the first bundle option and to add another SD card, 2 batteries and the hood for the 18-135mm. Hopefully they get back to me and say it's all set.

I can't wait to get the camera in. I really debated between the 70D and the 6D. Since I do both landscape and action I needed a good all around camera and thought the 70D would be a better fit. Also, I figured I might actually use the video on the 70D since it's easy to focus. Plus, coming from the Rebel XSi the high ISO shots from the 70D are looking great. I just gotta stop looking at the ones from the 6D.

Canon 70D; 18-135 IS STM, 15-85mm IS, 55-250mm IS, 35mm f2 IS, 50mm 1.8 II, Opteka 6.5mm Fisheye, 430ex II, YN-568ex II, Manfrotto 190CX3 w/ 496RC2, Olympus OM-4, 27" i7 iMac, Lightroom 5

I think you made the right choice. I thought the same exact thing. Some people care most about ISO, some more about AF, and others more about video. For an all around, the 70D can't be beat.

If video is a consideration, then the 70D is the hands-down all-rounder winner.

If video isn't a consideration, then it's going to be a very close race between the 70D and the 7D, and it'll just depend on what camera characteristics matter to you the most (the usefulness of the articulating screen can be quite high, but the same is true of the 100% viewfinder on the 7D).

As much as the 70D may not be top dog amongst Canon crop cameras in every respect, it's certainly right up at the top. I think 70D buyers are going to be very happy with their purchase.

I think everyone should assess what their needs are before deciding which camera to go for. If the 6D had Dual Pixel AF, it would be a no brainer for me.

I have a hunch that the 70D's sensor will score better than the 7D, but that's probably a given considering the 70D is newer.

Well, we already know, based on RAW samples, that the 70D's sensor doesn't exhibit any artifacts in the deep shadows at low ISOs, and I think it's safe to say that it doesn't exhibit any artifacts at high ISOs either.

Which is to say, this is the first crop sensor, and perhaps the first sensor ever, that is artifact-free. It may produce the same amount of noise at high ISO that the 7D produces, so we may not see any real improvement on that front, but a sensor that acts like film as regards artifacts is a huge deal in my opinion.

It's about time.

In any case, yes, the 70D's sensor is certainly better than the 7D's, if only because it is artifact-free whilst the 7D's isn't.

Is this the week? I hope so. Shipping my T2i off for a sensor mod today....I'll be having Canon crop sensor withdrawal until either the T2i returns or the 70D shows up....
In the mean time I'd grabbed a Tamron 18-270mm as a walk around for the 70D. I plan on dedicating the 70D to macro work but if the need arises the Tamron is there. I did shoot for a day with this Tamron on the T2i before shipping it off and was really surprised by the 18-270mm lens.
What lenses do you plan on using mostly with the 70D?
Since the 70D screams video for the first time since my Nikon F2 I'm actually considering a 50mm lens.

Another forum someone did a ML test and found the SD card system can do at least 40MB/s (not sure if a faster "Extreme" card would change that) but even then it's a solid improvement over the 60D ~20MB/s so burst shooting should be much more bearable.

It's all speculation until Monday.

That's when I bet we all will be getting tracking numbers.

Just spoke to Adorama CS and they do not have the camera in stock. Forget about CanonRumors posting, it was a pipedream. :o

CS says the now shipping tag at their website refers to Canon, not them.

The 70D is starting to show up as In Stock and shipping on Canadian online stores.

It is very tempting for me at the moment.

Started eyeing that Amazon 70D that was in stock. It did not have a Canon warranty. Gray Market!

I'll stand pat, it is not going to be a change in life when I get it!
