got this shot earlier today while taking some pictures for my friends. i dont have any lighting equipment besides my 320ex and their house is kinda dark so it was a bit of a challenge. i was messing around with the flash angle and just happened to get this effect and i ended up really enjoying it.

interesting shot but far too dark and somber for the subject matter 4/10 sorry dude

6.5/10 Like the moment, couple spots on his/her cheek I would clean up. Nice focus, not overly exciting composition.

6/10. Really well captured, nice moment.... but the key figure seems to be the girl and she's cut off a lot. Love the bokeh but that crop is tough to rate really high.

what would make this better than a 7 out of 10? Just curious.

I didn't give it the rating, but if I were to recommend an improvement, I think the crop is too loose. Take off the right side to just eliminate the people, and a little of the bottom, as those don't add to the photo, and only take away from it.

Maybe not the great time to shoot, and yeah. maybe i ll move the lens a little to left as well, to get rid of people.

Good focus and exposure, would maybe crop out a bit of the surrounding green though.

8/10

8/10 I really enjoy pics like this. great concept. the outline around the subject shows you were going for more artistic then realism.

I would have said too much dead space but if it is for their logo than is should come out really well. the face of the guy on the right is a bit too dark. 8/10

Love the pose and subject, but think you could do much to improve the shot in post, nothing really pops otherwise, think much of it is the linen backdrop of the table being unevenly lit perhaps. 5.5/10.

interesting shot. I like how the trail sort of disappears at the end and the B&W conversion really makes it pop. I only wish it was a bit wider so the effect on the trail going into the forest was more pronounced 8/10

4/10 ... The shot has me sort of guessing wondering whether there's spit bubble or some kind of glare thing. It seems more like a flaw than something that adds to the shot. Eyes seem a bit soft at my end in the eyes, and I like crisp focus for that close of a head shot.

***************

Been practicing around tracks near SE Portland across the river from downtown recently. Found this old chest by the tracks ... liked it enough to drag home with me.
