I just snagged the T2i with kit lens for $358. I am a happy soul.

That's about how much they run used. I guess you get the warranty though.

Yeah, could be because they increased the Refurb warranty from 90 days to 1 year.

Makes one ponder about the virtue of buying new from a grey import, and taking out your own private waranty or insurance, sounds better to me.

There's a line of thought that says a refurb from Canon has been scrutinized more than an off-the-assembly line camera and therefore may be less likely to have an issue. There are many, many people here who have purchased refurbs and had zero issues. If you buy a refurb body through CLP you can save 15-20% more on top of the refurb price. ~ $2,400 for a refurb 5D3 through CLP is a pretty good price.

Yes!

More information on the CLP is located here: https://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=948785

And before anyone asks - no you can't stack the sale price and the CLP discount. It's one or the other, which ever is best.

EDIT: Sorry - just saw the stacking question was already asked and answered on page 1 of this thread.

CLP is 20% OFF and Sale price is shown by Coupon discount amount.

Gotcha.

FYI, I've read here in Market Watch that the 5D3 CLP discount is 15% and not the typical 20%. Don't know if you're looking at a 5D3.

That's what I thought initially too. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the case. I believe they just take a quick look over and then throw it back out for sale. I know because I've received two differnt items that had issues that shouldn't have gone through if they had been checked. In fact the last item I ordered I ended up returning 2 times before giving up with the shipping back and forth. That being said I did have decent luck prior to the last two attempts. So who knows. It's really a crap shoot.

You guys know if the broken Pt and shoot camera will need to have battery?
The ones i saw on eBay going for $10, the seller said they don't come with battery.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

CLP questions - check Smacatl's link above, it is VERY comprehensive. I think that your old camera just has to have a serial number. No battery, no lens, no strap needed...
