I'm new here, but not new to photography.
I have a 30d with the stock 18-55 lens which is good enough for pics of the kids. I am looking at the next lens.
I shyed away from the 50mmf1.8 after reading about issues with the plastic mount, even my old Praktica lenses have metal mounts.
So either it's the 50mmf1.4 or I go longer.. and I could do with longer, but I already have 50mm.. so longer it is.
Checking the 50-200mm zooms, for the same price range, the 85 and the 100 will out resolve the zoom at full stretch, only something like the 70-200 f4L appear to begin to compete. And then there's the f1.8/f2.0 out of focus performance... lovely.
So all's good on the primes.. but I recently discovered Canons latest DPP lens correction algorithm and in my opinion it's like adding a few hundred pounds to the value of any lens it works with (tried it with the 18-55)
Looking at the list of lenses covered both the 100f2 and the 85f1.8 are missing..
Is this me.. will they be added.. or am I making a fuss over nothing?
Thanks in advance
