Hey guys, all nice images...if we look back and compare the images in the old thread you can easily see how all of you have improved in your craft...keep it up and enjoy the hobby...it has been raining here in the desert with flash floods so I have been staying indoor...and did several oil pieces, here is one: Amaryllis in a large canvas 4x5 ft (48x60 inches) this one took me 10 hours and needs a pair to hang in the foyer. The smaller study took me 2 hour and is 16x20 inches canvas

Thanks Mr. Tony, sure sure, next time I will. I'm not good on explaining stuff but here's the one I did for the East Boston old pier.

Taken at dawn.
I always start f/11 and ISO100.
I use AV if its too dark to meter.
Once I metered, I changed it to Bulb.
I stacked lee ND and sometimes soft GND filters if foreground is too dark.
I use the Longtime Exposure Calculator iphone apps to get the exact shutter speed.

The settings on that pic was
Bulb mode, f/11 and ISO100, Exposure 3minutes
1 ND 2stop, 1 3stop soft GND and 1 2stop soft GND.
Remote shutter cable and tripod.

One thing I noticed is that at dawn the lights on cities wont be light up compared to dusk. But on the river there are less boats passing so chances less boat light trail on river and less wave on river. Which is good less post process and water will be more smooth.
