Cracking shot Brenda one of your best so far.

+1. Every shot seems so much better and better. Nice catch lights in that one.

From a recent shoot:
QUOTED IMAGE

A very nice natural, relaxed shot! Your model looks quite comfortable and at-ease. I like that she's leaning a bit. I think the lighting is what makes this picture work so well but there's nothing here that shouts "lighting effects". Does that make any sense? I'd have to try cropping it just a skosh more on the right side, moving your subject a bit closer to the vertical third. Or maybe not.

Went walking this morning, and the only birds in flight were some little black birds, blah. Guess it is already too warm for them.

Thanks for the feedback. :) I gave your suggestion a try while trying to keep the aspect ratio. I am always open to suggestions! Here's what I got. Any better?

Very nice shot Brenda. Let us in on your lighting arrangement for this one ...... for us to learn from you!
Appears to me you have natural backlighting, possibly a reflector device below camera right AND an on camera low level fill flash?? As Clay said, No Obvious (excessive) lighting effects in this.
Well done.

That Crop is much better. Now her face is close to the intersection of the rule of thirds ... sweet spot for observers focal attention. :)

I used my nifty fifty for this shoot. Since they were little people, I didn't want to come out with this huge thing and point it at them. Plus I thought it better to stay close to keep talking them throughout the shooting. :)

Backlight, yes. It was a cloudy morning and the sun was coming up behind her. I used fill flash on camera with a cheapo sock like diffuser. Off to her right is some water that was likely catching the sun and tossing a bit her way. The rest....drum roll please....LR radial filter. ;)

So I finally got around to loading the DSLR control software on my droid, Anybody else done this? What is the cable that connects the phone to the camera called? I know they are both some type of micro USB.

And Brenda GREAT shots of those kids.
I personally don't really care for photos that look like they have been heavily processed. The "too perfect" or colorized thing kinda bugs me so those shots really look great.
