1DX with 70-200 MKII @ 70mm f2.8 1/125th sec ISO 25600

This was just seeing how the high ISO was when I first got the 1DX and it was nearly dark with most the room light being supplied by our TV and my sons face lit by the ipod he was using.

if the 70D is as good as 1 I may get one

There is no indication whatsoever that it'll be any worse than the 7D. What we've seen so far indicates that it's about the same, but that it's better at lower ISOs.

I'd wait a little more before deciding, but based on what we've seen so far, I'd say the primary deciding factor should be the set of features that are important to you. If, for instance, you value a 100% coverage viewfinder and a more flexible autofocus system to a flip-out screen and good autofocus in live view, then the 7D is the camera for you. If vice-versa, then the 70D is the one you want.

Both will get you image quality that, when processed properly, will knock your socks off unless you're used to a current-generation full frame camera or something...

7d @ ISO 12800

2 shots on the scene of a twilight/night fire at an abandoned school. The fire was gone by the time I got there, so I had to play with the fire apparatus instead. Loving high ISO options. Getting stuff I wouldn't have otherwise gotten.

Some amazing low light performance in this thread!

5D3, iso-51200, f4, 1/60
The naked eye could hardly see anything inside the tent. There was no light in this room, it was dark except for some bounced light from the next room. I had to take a few shots before I got the bird in focus.
