I just received my 24-70L II just last week from Adorama and noticed it didn't come with the new pinch lens cap. I thought by now, these lenses would have been updated with the new caps. Anyone received their 24-70L with the new cap?

The 24-70 II that I bought (and returned) this week had the pinch cap ... I just buy a normal one and replace it :) My 85 f1.2 and 135 f2 both had the pinch ones ... and they were bought a month or two ago so I am assuming Canon are putting the pinch type on more and more lenses ...

This may be sacrilege, but I just bought a batch of Promaster pinch caps. One for each of my lenses. I think they are about $6.99 each. Well worth it to me. Oh yeah, my Tammys came with pinch caps.

Dedicated APS-c shooter. Gripped 60D, 60 2.8, 10-22, 15-85, Σ70-200 OS and a big white something or other! Plus a 5D w/28-75.

Interesting that Adorama still lists "E82U" for the 24-70L which is the old-style cap whereas B&H lists "E-82 II" which is the new one. Just something minor to watch out for I guess if you're checking out where to buy since you'll probably want a pinch cap -- I find it's almost impossible to remove and replace the lens cap if the hood is on. The Canon pinch cap sells for around $15.

I've got centre pinch caps on all my lenses, but other than the Tamron one they are all no name ones.
After recently having two Canon M lenses that came with the new caps I can see how nicer the canon ones are.
