Went out and had a first play with some HDR shots today. Maybe need to learn a bit more about PPing this type of shot.

Nice set Andy. Where was this?

Quick question, My 40D doesn't seem to be focusing correctly with the 24-105. now im not sure if its the camera or Lens. Is the micro adjustment available on the 40D?

It seems OK at closer stuff, but if i use it over any distance then it doesn't seem right.

Thanks mate. All taken in Romsey, Hampshire.

The 40D doesn't have the micro adjustment feature. Is this something that's just started? Could be time for a service and if its only that one lens, then its the lens that needs the work I would say.

The lens has only just come back from Canon after a refurb. Maybe it's the way I'm using it.

got some pics to demonstrate the issue Wayne? and forgive the silly mention, you've checked it's on AF not MF on the lens? (I only say this as it's one of my faux pas')

morning all - back to work for a rest today, very happy to have my 1DX back and it's working good as new :D

Evening all. How are we?

Pete, It looks like you had an amazing trip. Your pictures are great, and your lucky to have got so close to some of them.

Last week we spent in London. We stayed in the London Bridge Premier Inn which wasn't too bad. Got loads done including, Tower Of London, London Bridge Experience, RAF Museum at Hendon, HMS Belfast and loads more. Im bloomin knackered and cant wait to go back to work for a rest. :)

Heres a quick on of London Bridge. I know its been done to death, and we have had alot better ones on here but im pleased with it. It was hard to find a spot as there were loads doing it. Most of them got in your way on purpose too which got my goat a bit. A few sporadic blasts of the flashgun soon sorted them out. :)

Great shot of my favourite landmark. If it's busy in front of City Hall (and it usually is), going down to Butlers Wharf is a good option. I like the background views from that side better as well.

I did check that first Lee. I also turned off the is when on the tripod. I have noticed it in the past, but thought it was me.

I noticed it again with some shots I took of the Tower of London from City ball side. I know it's night, but should it not still be sharp?

Howdy all, I've had a lovely week away in Cornwall, but now back to a grey London and work :(

Loving some of the photos on here, gorgeous pooch piccies, and nice to see Danni back in front of the lens Kev, great poses!

Whilst in Cornwall I had a wedding to cover, so here's a couple....

I picked up the 1DX just before leaving and a 600EX, however it turned out that my Pocket Wizards are not compatible with the 1DX in TTL mode, which I use a lot for garden wedding photos etc. So using the 5DII and Pocket Wizards, I managed to get the following, which summarised the day perfectly...

And here's another that captured the confetti run beautifully (this time with the 1DX)

it should be sharp, difficult to determine a solution without seeing some pics tho' Wayne...

have you still got the files on a card? maybe you can use the AF point setting in the camera and see if it's in the place you expected/wanted it to be?

Great wedding pics Rich
