it's quite easy to MF once you get use to it. Even @ 2.8, I have very little issues with MF. I just use the feet markings, and due to the large DOF, you generally nail the shot. From DOF master 14mm F2.8:

Near limit 3.02 ft
Far limit 14.4 ft
Total 11.4 ft
In front of subject 2 ft (17%)
Behind subject 9.4 ft (83%)
the MF throw is the longest of any lens I think, probably close to one full turn.
