What's the least cumbersome way to trigger a 430EXII from a 6D?Sure Pocket Wizards are fun ... but I'd love to find something smaller or more integrated.

I'm not afraid of hacking something together if I have to, maybe cram a trigger in a grip?

Yongnuo 622c that way you can retain ettl. They aren't very big transmitters.

So the 6D won't support off camera 430EXII without something additional to trigger it? Am I misunderstanding the question?

+1 on Yongnuo YN-622C. Fairly small, reliable, pretty cheap, and full featured. Find everthing you want to know about them here: https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1212530 The TOYUG link in the first post on the thread will let you know their capabilities.

+2 on the Yongnuo 622-C. I have a pair and am looking to get another pair with one of their YN-568 flash units as well.

Glad to hear they are pretty reliable. I just ordered a set over the weekend and should have it this week to test out.

Thanks all, I'm really surprised I'm the only one not a fan of having stuff protruding everywhere on the camera.
I may look into hacking a trigger into a battery grip or something equivalent.

The most compact and lightweight is Commlite ComTrig TL680
If you do not need the AF-Assist
and do not shooting at long distances
and generally do not shoot often, they should be fine.
Similar to PW but work as YN.

Or use YN-622C :)

I have both of them :)

Shame they are crap though.

Is there a tech reason why they stick out so much that I'm missing?

"hey guys let's make the tiniest transmitter ... and then make it stick out as obnoxiously as possible"

I guess it is a bit of a peculiar pet peeve of mine ... but I don't like stuff sticking out all over the place.

The vertical location of the antenna is the best and most versatile.
I use PCB CST with EINSTEIN in the studio along with CYBER COMMANDER / CSXCV
And the transmitter does not prevent the shooting.

YN-622C use in low-light conditions
Commlite TL680 are in the camera bag, along with a flash for quick use.
You need to like.

Smaller in size only PW Mini TT1, but TT1 and TT5 do not work fully with the Canon EOS 6D.

Today had the opportunity to check the compatibility of COMMLITE ComTrig TL680 with CANON EOS 6D and Canon 430EXII

Full compatibility (at the same level as with the YN-622C)
