here's the situation: planning to sell my crop gear and keep the 100/2. going the 6D route and planning to add a 50/1.4 in the mix. now i only need to cover the wide end...so i'm debating if i should go with the 6D + 24-105 kit along with the 50 and 100 or would a 3-prime setup work better: 6D + 28 IS, 50, 100. where i live, the cost of the 6D + 24-105 kit is about the same as buying the 6D (body only) and adding the 28 IS. addtionally, going with the 28 IS also keeps all filter sizes at 58mm. which means that i can buy a CPL which all three lenses (28 IS, 50 and 100) can use without any trouble.

i get to shoot weddings occasionally as a #2 or #3 photographer but i'm also just a simple hobbyist. should i get the 24-105 or the 28 IS? i know the 24-105 is an L lens and it's at least decent but i'm tempted to go with an all prime setup even if it ends up being a bit more inconvenient and cumbersome. any thoughts?

I can reccomend setup like 28/1.8, 50/1.4 and 100/2 with a separate zoom like 28-135 or 24-105L.

I would get the 35F 2IS. The 24-105L is a good lens and useful. There is no reason you can't use both zooms and primes. The zoom is a bargain as part of a kit. I would recommend the zoom.

My line up is 17-40, 40 and 100macro, normally I only take one or two lens when go out shooting. 28mm IS is good if the FL wide enough for you, I will choose 24mm IS in this situation.
