One thing a LOT Of people NEVER consider is 2 PELICAN CASES.....

A 1610 is HEAVY and BIG.... 2 1510s are better.... If you don't need everything, you only take one case and its easier to pack in the car too.........

Home storage... GUN SAFES are very nice.... (plus you can put other things in them too).....

Thanks for all the info everyone. I think I'm going to order a 1510. I've stored high quality optics (gun scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, surveying equip) unopened for years at a time with no issues. I have a smaller Pelican that I keep an old Canon A1 in and don't open it for 2-3 years at a time.

you'll love it. Like I stated earlier, I ordered the 1514, which is the 1510, but with padded dividers instead of the usual foam. Its great, compact and a pleasure to own.
