Some standard newspaper images I have taken with the 1Ds Mark III when on various assignments using different lenses. Editing was minimal, with no noise reduction on the high ISO shots (noise doesn't matter in print).

Thorrulz Goldmember More info | Sep 02, 2013 17:34 | #2643 Just pushed the buy button on one of these bad boys and should have it by the end of the week. It came down to adding this and a Canon 85 f/1.8 to my gear until the end of the year or the 5D MII and 85L. In the end I really like to be able to use the outer focus points just way to much to go from a 5D to 5D MII with the same focusing system. Flickr

Until then I will most likely shoot anything that walks in front of me. I went with this body because for what features I want and need the most, no other body was available at the price. For the price of under $2300 I have: Image files at least as good as the original 5D which I happen to love btw. Higher resolution from the 5D (12.8) to 1DS MIII (21.1). Details in the shadows is simply outstanding. A focusing system that I have complete confidence in when using any of the outer points. Micro adjust, always handy when using a lens with a fast aperture of f/2 to f/1.2. Live view with a 3" lcd. Many other smaller details that helped me decide to move back into the 1D family. It also never hurts in your decision making process when some of your favorite fellow photographers are using this body. Right after viewing the files on the computer from my first shoot I knew I made the right decision. Congrats on the 1Ds 3!! I still love mine. It is still my favorite Canon FF camera to date. As you stated, it is still thee best performing sensor at base ISO. I wish could say that for any current Canon body.

It is leaps and bounds ahead of any body I've used to date. Even my friend who owns a 5d mii couldn't believe these bodies are in the $2500 range. She's was thinking about the 5d miii but now thinks the 1ds miii would do just as well. Flickr

I'm upgrading my gear at the moment, although at a slightly snail pace... recently purchasing a 60D, I'm now saving for a FF body, I love the 1D feel (I currently use a 1D2) so I'm swinging more towards this body over the 6D & 5DII. When buying these body's second hand, are there any issues, problems or anything else to look out for? I've read about AF issues (might just be the 1D3?), but can't find enough info on it for an answer? Any help would be great... off now to go back a few pages to gawp at photos ![]() Cheers all. I believe the focus issues were in regard to the 1DMIII and by the time the 1DS MIII shipped the focus issues were resolved and do not affect this particular body. Flickr
