Reserved my copy for a trip in October. Hope to put it to good use during the Orionids.

Very nice photo! I assume this is your family? bw!

I wonder if a little more light on the boy's right side of his face would help a bit. The woman's face is lit perfectly.

Ok.. so not really what this lens is for but i was at Oare Marshes in Kent with my 100-400 when i came across this (small) common lizzard warming himself up... so i had a go with the Sigma..

both are at 35mm, the first @f4 and the second @f1.8 (just for fun)

F4.0

If I move from Sigma 17-50 2.8 to this one, will this lens be outstanding? In terms of sharpness

Great shots everyone. I recently picked up a 6D to complement my 7D, and you'll be surprised how sharp my 18-35 1.8 is on the 6D....it's only usable at 35mm...but the results are comically good considering it wasn't designed for it. So it's a 35mm prime for my 6D, and a 18-35mm zoom for my wife's SL1.... :) I'll get some pics up once I upload some.
