6D and Rokinon 14mm for my first go at a Milky Way shot. Need to work on the processing to bring out the detail better.

I returned the 6D after 3 days.

While the still shots were outstanding I was not able to get quality shots of fast moving objects such as birds.

Since I am not a pro maybe the issue was my lack of skills in combo with the AF system of the 6D.

Moving to the 5D Mark III

I've been thinking about going with the 6D...

But bear with me, I just wanted to ask that dreaded question thats been circulating the internet... How do you guys feel about the autofocus?

This being a hobby, the fastest thing I plan on shooting is the dog running in the yard... but in terms of the autofocus points, it seems a little hard to compose using the 'rule of thirds' with so little points to choose from. Everyone keeps saying they use the focus+recompose method, but with a prime lens at f/1.8 (narrow DOF) thats a sure-fire way to lose focus.

Coming from a Nikon d7000 (which is now a family member's d7000) I feel a little spoiled with the 39 AF points.

Have you guys felt hindered? or is it something you adjust to quickly?

Excellent Photo. What settings did you have it on? Would be nice to know for us less experienced photographers out there.

Picture of Assateague Island from my boat. One of the first groups of pictures with this body. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Anyone have a problem with the letter L showing when trying to change apetures? It refuses to let me change anything in manual mode and keeps show the letter L. I'm using a 6D.

That means you locked the settings. Back of camera, toward bottom right, there is a physical switch which is used to lock settings from being inadvertently being changed in between shots.

You can also go to custom functions and modify which settings this switch actually locks, as well.

I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, not sure why you felt the need to tell people who already own it though?
