What shutter speed are you working at as I have the t4i (basically the same camera with a few less whistles and bells that shouldnt make any difference) and the burst rate on RAW is pretty good unless its writing slow shutter speed images. It fires off 6 shots in around a second and another every half second(ish) after that in decent light.
If its set to RAW+JPG it only manages 2 in quick burst then slows down to one every half second(ish) though.
I am using a Sandisk pro memory card - one of the UHS1 95MB/s ones.
I'll have to double check when I get home, but I bumped up the shutter speeds for this weekend a bit and messed with the ISO's. I am using the Sandisk Extreme's 30MB/s cards. No matter what value I use, raw or S3, it will only let me do 6 burst, so I am not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or if my cards are too slow.
I've looked through the manual and according to it, I should get approx 21,560 shots in burst mode for S3, but all I get is 6 on the display.
I am starting to get more comfortable with the camera though. This weekend allowed me to get some good time behind the lens and the chance to really learn some of the more advanced features of my camera. I'm more of a "go do it and figure out what works, then study why it worked" rather than "read countless books then be scared to death to try".
