UPDATE

Sale has started. See CPW for details. http://www.canonpricewatch.com …d-50-off-250-100-off-500/ (external link)

Previous Post:

According to CPW: http://www.canonpricewatch.com …n-50-off-250-100-off-500/ (external link)

"The Canon Direct Store is starting a refurbished sale this weekend. Unfortunately it’s not as good as previous percentage-off sales, but they’ll be featuring $50 off a refurbished purchase of $250, and $100 off a refurbished purchase of $500. This should apply to all refurbished bodies, lenses, and speedlites.

There are some great deals to be had:

EF-S 10-22mm will be $419.99 (currently $519.99)
EF-S 17-55mm IS will be $603.99 (currently $703.99)
EF 70-200mm f/4L will be $467.99 (currently $567.99)
EF 50mm f/1.4 USM will be $269.99 (currently $319.99)
EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II will be $1739.20 (currently $1839.20)
Speedlite 600EX-RT will be $389.99 (currently $439.99, and already sold out)"

These things typically start on midnight Saturday night (e.g. Sunday morning).

That's currently listed as OOS today and, if you're following along with the sales, may not be in stock during the duration of the sale period. Be thankful if your order ships this week. ;)

hmmm so a 6D would be 1499...having the 20% would be a huge discount, this deal would work awesome if you're buying stuff that costs 500 or so...

You may get free shipping, but just like the CLP, unless you live in Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire or Oregon - you'll pay your local sales tax when you check out.

Sorry, but I'm thinking this is a non event when compared to the 15% - 20% that's offered thru the CLP every day. The only exception being the 24-70 II which is not included in the CLP program (betting it and all the other higher end L glass will be out of stock for the duration of the sale)

Let's see - should I take the CLP deal for 20% off the 5DMII, or should I take the sale price of $100 off $1.759.20 - tough choice!

Correct, the 6D is not in the program yet, so I guess the sale would help on a 6D by saving you $100 off the refurb price. Same thing with a 1DX.

After the big build up about this sale along with the false alarm a few weeks back, I was hoping for a repeat of last December's 20% across the board discount, so this is a little bit of a let down.
