GREAT shots Ranger!!
Keyan--I'm still studying a 300mm for my BIF check off list and your photos show off your 70-300 very well. I don't think one needs to bust the bank completely to get a BIF.

All of the shots from today were taken with it. Such a versatile lens.

This fly (a muscid I think) was waiting for the rain to lessen, on the leaf of the rose bush in the garden this afternoon. I quite like the light on this, and the colours compliment each other throughout.

I know you'll get a great discount on the lens if you buy it on a kit but my budget is only for the body. But i'll be getting the 35mm f2 IS soon.

Paul.

Great shot, lighting, contrast, colors, and getting the fly to sit still.

Paul.

Wow look at it's eyes,... you can see how it's eyes are actually constructed. It's almost like putting a flash on one of our microscopes in biology lab instead of on a camera. And it's feet,... you can see the what looks like wax or pollen or some thing on it's feet. Amazing! How do you get this sucker to hold still for a shot like this? LOL! I'm also checking out how the hind legs are blown out and the front legs are zoned in. Now how far away do you think a fly's fronts legs are from it's hind legs? Not nearly as far away as I had my baseball from my Dr. Pepper bottle! I gotta figure this out man! I just gotta!
