It would be very interesting to see older scramblers and older dirt bikes.

Here is a dirt bike for you. Sammy Tanner rode this Gold Star to victory at the Springfield mile. I think 1964. He also chalked up many win at Ascot in LA in the early 1960's.

Another Gold Star with the same engine mods as #7 above, with a milder tune. About 55 HP with a wide powerband. Very fast on the fire roads.

Thanks Gary for posting those beautiful old vintage bikes. I'm a vintage motorcycle collector...a very small collector. :D

I have two...a '67 Matchless G 15CS 750 Scrambler....has the Norton Atlas 750 twin with twin Amal carbs and sports cam engine....shoehorned into a Matchless frame...by the factory.

The other is a '78 Yamaha SR 500 single, which I bought new back in April, 1978.

Please forgive the terrible image quality; these are old scans from old slides.
My 2011 DR650 is a direct descendant of the DR500. Can't believe those tiny drum brakes!

Pjay, my TT 500 is orange. I don't recall ever seeing a yellow one. Is that special for OZ?

Cool bikes. I use to have a 1974 Suzuki TS185. I loved that bike. it had the compression release break on the head that spewed burnt 2-stroke oil everywhere. I wish I could find another to ride on the roads. Ironically Suzuki STILL makes the TS185! But....sadly we cant get them in the U.S. Its the exact bike that was made in the 70's with a few modern touches...but brand new!! Makes me sad :( If I had the money to throw around I would almost pay to have one imported!

Apologies for the delayed response Gary. No too sure about the colour variations for different markets. You still have yours! They are almost non existent here now, mainly bought up for wild cafe racer customs....

Yea, I still have the TT500, but I haven't ridden much in the last few years. I also have a Norton Commando Fastback and a Yamaha YZ100.

This is my Norton in the mid 80's when I freshened it.
