Actually, there's every little difference between the HDR and the RAW image. It was underexposed which tends to saturate colours

I don't think they see much blue in Scotland. Looks fine to me too.

Honestly I think there can also be a tendency to desaturate even beyond what the scene actually looked like for fear of it not looking natural.

OTOH, perhaps over-saturating is more common.

Quick question for J-Blake. In the image with the birds above, how did you process that? Wouldn't the birds move, thus not allowing you to combine images? Thanks (Nice picture though)

1 image with another two (over and under) created in PS perhaps? That's how I work with an image that I've taken when I haven't had a tripod.

Thanks Colin. The birds came from one image. The bright sun and dark shadows at the bottom of the shot were blended to correct those portions of the shot.
