Yeah, I think I get more enjoyment out of buying/selling systems than actually using them. Lol, or more of the trying to find the perfect camera. Lucky for me my wife is very understanding and I don't lose and sometimes make money on selling the equipment, especially since I often buy used at competitive prices from buyers looking to make a quick sale.

I think out of all the ones I've tried, I get the most enjoyment out of the E-M5 with a few nitpicks. Most of the others have issues that I couldn't live with. Either too big/heavy (D600/5D), too slow/laggy (XE-1, EOS-M), not often native glass (NEX's), too much noise (NEX7), too uncomfortable to use (RX100), or just too expensive/not flexible enough (RX1/E-P5).

The nitpicks I had with the E-M5 (too small without grip, buttons too small, VF still not great, bracketing took at least 12 button presses, etc) have been answered in the E-M1. Great, comfortable grip, improve buttons, Class leading EVF, simple bracketing combined with features that are just an added bonus (1/8000 shutter, improved weather sealing, color creator, photo story mode for the wife), make it seem like it'll be a winner and could be the one that stays in the bag for the longest. Plus it doesn't hurt that I'll be able to inherit some quality 4/3 glass like the 2 macros, and some other HG and have access to some SHG glass. As much as the Oly 60 was a sharp lens, at 120mm equivalent, it was a little too long for me, having a 70/100 equivalent will be better for me.

Thanks. Turns out I had his in my eBay watch list from last year when I had my E-M5. Good to know it is still a good option, I went ahead and ordered one.

Actually I am only sure about it here in Japan. I however will offer a few kits at mu-43 for people who want it.

With the way it is going it might be a while before they release the kit version in the US or maybe they are just waiting for it to be ready before they start accepting orders.

Since I already sold the 6D, finally pre-ordered the E-M1.
Now if someone just buys my 24-70II, can now look into lenses. Oly 12-40 or Pan 12-35 .... Hmmm.

Pretty pumped for the E-M1 release, I've been using the newly acquired E-P5 in NYC for last few days and I'm perfectly happy with it. The Leica gear will be going up for sale when I get home in a few days and with end up with a two body Olympus setup for travel.

I've been using my gf's new EP-5 with the 17mm F1.8 - I have to say, I'm in love with it. Great shots, easy to carry, and a damn fine lens.

Almost tempted to ditch the 7D...

That is a very nice setup. I remember you.

I will likely purchase the EM1 when it becomes available. For those of you that went from a dslr to a micro 4/3rds, did you find the dof differences limiting. I would be able to compare if the EPL5 I ordered arrives but it's looking like another few days

APS-C to m4/3 is less than a stop difference, which to me isn't significant. FF to m4/3 is 2 stops difference, and that's where it gets noticeable. I don't find it limiting at all.

Occasionally I do miss shooting at ridiculously high ISO's with the 5DIII and still getting salvageable results. I rarely push past 3200 on my E-M5. That's my upper limit - I start to dislike what I see after that.

I've been pondering that myself lately. I've been watching the m43 cameras from Olympus and other mirrorless systems such as the Sony Nex and the Fuji X Series. The latter ones there is less of a difference in dof and noise limitations, but there are some many features and things right with the Olympus stuff. The other factor is that while yes it's smaller/lighter I'd still be in the situation where I need to carry a bag and multiple lenses, which makes me wonder if the trade-off from dslr is ultimately worth it or will I still find myself leaving the gear at home and opting for the more portable point and shoot. Not trying to troll or lessen the excitement over these releases, just thinking out loud!

When I have access to both my kits ( I travel a lot and leave the cannon gear at home) I often reach for the OMD over the bigger 40d or 6d just because its a little more handy to toss into a bag or cubby hole in the truck somewhere so its with. Also might be because I travel so much it might be just what I am most familiar with the control lay out an its quirks

Not sure what you mean here. With an m4/3s camera you'd need to carry multiple lenses but you would not with a DSLR? I'm not following.
