Can you believe this girl is a heavy equipment operator in the U.S. Army?

Shot Terri's friend, Netta Carter Saturday...her first fashion style shoot, and my first using an 85mm prime. Netta is an Afganistan war vet, heavy equipment operator and a body builder. Quite a lady...

Hoo rah!! Thank you for sharing and her for her service!!!

Think about NOT using the word "retarded" in a derogatory manner - it insults those who cannot defend themselves - and hurts the ones who love them. Please see: http://www.r-word.org/ (external link)

Nice shots, but I think her dark skin is tricking the camera into over-exposing a little. White balance is a little cool as well.

yep, you are right, didn't notice it at first but a shift of WB toward warm side would help

Yes, I can. While I was in Saudi Arabia, a tiny woman (guessing around 5') was moving tons of equipment from multiple C5's onto the airfield on a heavy loader. The only reason I remember is because there were several Arabic men standing around gawking at her because she had taken off her BDU top (it was 90 degrees @ 3AM). It was really funny to me at the time.

Good photos btw.

Thanks for the CC...I just don't have an eye for WB yet. First shoot with an African-American also.
