This discussion seems to have drifted a way off course! I think there is a "lounge" around here somewhere for that...

70D people... 70D

Sorry Ranger, but I just wasted my time reading through two pages of your dribble and had to yell OT!

Have Vello, Meike and other third party grips started to become available for the 70D?

Search the forum. All the 3rd party grip talk has been negative from what I've read. I have the Canon BG-E14 and it's been flawless.

All grip talk on this forum quickly devolves into two camps: the Canon-brand loyalists, and the frugal pragmatists. Apart from cosmetic issues, and occasionally a button reliability issue, the 3rd party grip owners seem to be happy. Canon does make their higher-end grips (i.e. for 7D and up) using similar build standards as the body it is attached to (mag-alloy, weather-resistant seals, etc.), and 3rd party grips (to my knowledge) never provide either of those. Also, if the tripod mount on the grip itself is important to you, Canon-brand may be a better choice for mechanical stability when attached to a tripod.

That is my problem. In this backwater, I do not even know if the Canon grip would be available from the authorised retailer, even if he has ever heard of such a thing.

On eBay, the grip is priced at around 23K INR, which would make it around 367 USD which is about twice the price listed on B&H.

That was the reason I went with the 3rd party grip for my 60D - price (less than half Canon OE) and availability (the Canon grip could not be found).

Why do you even need to say sorry? You said the truth. The mod should just delete those irrelevant posts and tell him to stick on topic. There's a reason why there's an OT section on POTN.

what I find amusing (not) its the people who comments and get between 2 persons dialog.
Its not your business what the other person says, or think.
If you are not happy, read another topic.
And if the Mods are not taking it away, there is a reason for that!

Sometimes, no. But that's what the 'Ignore' list is for.

Well, to help get back on topic, I'll share the following link:
http://networkedblogs.com/OXV9r (external link)

This is an article entitled, "The Canon 70D - First Impressions"
It is written by a top-notch wildlife photographer and videographer.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
